| I've
always thought the Unknown was a pretty decent band. Excluding
their early adventures into funky punk (the mere connection
with the word "funk" is terrible). After a few misteps
they got it together and have been doing the pop punk thing
in Clevo better than most. Early on they should have changed
their name though...
My favorite
Unknown memory is actually of another band. I had dropped
off a tape of my band, The Working Class Heroes at Flash Gordon's.
We were trying to play in Cleveland after playing all around
Ohio/Michigan/Indiana we wanted to do at least one hometown
show. Regrettably, we broke up a week later. I have good memories
of those days though. Back to the Unknown, I was talking to
the Unknown as the Secret Agents were warming up. Some of
you may be in the dark about the Secret Agents along with
Potroast, One Beat Off and Synthetic Reality they were a part
of the early 1990s West Side suburban punk rock scene. The
Secret Agents were from Parma and very popular. Tons of kids
came to their shows and sported the Secret Agents lame Spy
vs. Spy sticker on their Ford Escorts. They played sorta Epitaphy
clean punk rock. As with most pre-alternative nation bands,
they had to let in a metalhead, in this case the guitarist.
Lacking a mullet, he wore a tight white t-shirt, acid washed
jeans, and white hightops. He sported a nice buzz cut and
light moustache. Well, the Secret Agents were warming up and
this guy wanted to show off his white Charvel and wireless
kit. Punk does not equal wireless. Well to show off his awesome
soloing ability and new equipment he walked all over the club
playing. He even walked outside playing, but the dumbass forgot
the club doors locked when you closed them...leaving him to
bang on the doors to get let back in. The good old days of
suburban punk...
