I
remember when I first met Alex Strouhal. He came over my house
to check out my "hard-core" drumming abilities. When he arrived
at the door, my Mom greeted him. He was standing there with
his mohawk, spiked collar, leather jacket and big black boots.
My mom requested that he remove his big black boots before entering
the house. He complied.
While I performed my "hard-core" drumming abilities in front
of Alex, I noticed his white socks. I was inspired to perform
beyond my normal skills.
I was hired shortly thereafter.
More stories about Alex coming soon ...

This
was ages ago, mid 80s. We we're at Zubal's warehouse on the
west side, the band was practicing, the song was "Something
Ugly" (by the way, we've sung that song around our kids
and now we hear them singing "don't touch it. don't touch
it. don't touch it. ewwww! I caught something ugggly....."
Anyway, the building across the street had caught fire, the
noise of the sirens got our attention, we went up to the roof
to look and the flames were huge off the roof and I recall
Mike Zubal checking the wind direction and concerned for the
books in the warehouse.
