In
the wake of the Dead Boys 1987 reunion tour and a subsequent
run in with local authorities, Cheetah Chrome cooled
his heels in his former home town. Problem was, and
is, there "Aint Nothin to Do". A gig was arranged
with Lords of the New Church at the Agora Theatre, and
a back up band was quickly thrown together. All of a
sudden, the Ghetto Dogs were unleashed in Cle. Throughout
the summer they played a handful of shows, drank an
ocean of Blatz beer, got into a few scrapes, and managed
to record a four song demo at Great Tracks. Of course,
by summers end, the whole project went to the dogs and
Cheetah returned to NYC where he briefly put together
a band with the same name. The original band reunited
a few years later when they played at the Stiv Bator
memorial benefit at Babylon-A-Go-Go. There recordings
were released in 1993 as an E.P. (GH1013) on Get Hip
Records.
