Bob Richey and Bob Sablack had joined forces many years earlier and had created the Pink Holes. Bob Sablack "left" that group to pursue other "needling" issues. But, sometime in the mid-80's, the two decided to work together again. From that moment the 2 Bobs were born. Early gigs included Darryl Whalens "house" party, where they performed with just two accoustic guitars. At this point, they had already penned many of the masterpieces that would soon become the standards of their sets. When they decided to turn the Bobs into a "real" band, they first invited Al McGinty in as the drummer (he had a studio) and then Cheese Borger in on bass (he had beer money). And the legend grew from there. Gigs included many at the Rage, Phantasy and probably the best with that original line-up, WRUW's Studio-Arama. Alan left the band and was replaced by Tom Fallon (Freddy Pants). Around this time the band became a regular at Pats in the Flats and also played at Otto Moser's. The "I'm With Stupid" CD was released in 1990 and soon after Bobby Richey moved on to LA. Never "officially" ended, the Bobs still have a few sounds left scattered about. The have one cut that will soon be featured on Cheese Borgers' "Pie&Ears" comp. Another highlight was when Cheetah Chrome and Mike Hudson recorded the 2 Bobs classic "At The Party", which was released on the CLE magazine 4.0 CD.
